Clean off your kissers. After a long day, or night,  you’re ready for fresh lips. Say buh-bye to stained towels and hello to the paper kind. Using a paper towel will remove color, exfoliate lips, and leave you with a pretty pout.

Beauty Battle: Gel vs Liquid Eyeliner

Ding ding ding! New year, new battle ladies and this time it’s all eyes on eyeliner. The newest and trendiest eyeliner choices are gel and liquid, but which liner comes out on top? I’m here to break down the pros and cons to help you choose your champion.
beauty battle: liquid vs gel liner

Gel Time

First up we have gel liner, a super long lasting, very pigmented liner that comes in a pot. Thicker color and the ability to smudge and blend comes from using a gel. Usually best suited for those with an unsteady hand because the lines created with gel are forgiving and luckily, mistakes are barely noticeable. This is perfect if you are going for the smoky effect, as seen on Angelina Jolie.

Here you can see how her liner is not exact, but heavier and a tad smudged, which gives her a mysterious look.

Our Pick: L’Oreal’s Infallible Gel Lacquer Liner is perfect: long lasting and under $10! Continue reading…

Sale-Rack Report: Summer Nights LBD For Only $16!

Summer is finally here and, as any good Grease fan knows, that means there are plenty of hot summer nights ahead. Whether you’re heading off to an island, interning in the city, summering in the Hamptons, or even just hoping to catch a glimpse of a Guido or Guidette at a Jersey Shore nightclub, you obviously won’t want to do it in some boring old dress from who-knows-how-many seasons ago.

Tag: Demi Sequin Dress, $58.00 $16.00 @ Nasty Gal.
This sequin dress lets you look hot without cutting too deep into your mojito budget! Pair it with a cute pair of heels and earrings, but leave your necklaces at home. The dress’s fun neckline is accessory enough and you don’t want to make the look too busy.
Sequins are big this summer, with everyone from Heidi Klum (in a fabulous blue sequined blazer) to Lucy Hale (in a fun demi dress herself) rocking them around town. Have fun, wear sunscreen, and stay safe – and fabulous!

Maxi Dress Perfect For Curves

One of my readers hit me up on Facebook asking for a maxi dress that works on a curvy figure. I feel ya, girlfriend. I’m tiny, but boobs can makes certain maxis look more nighty. Opt for a dress that cinches in. That way your waist looks smaller and your curves do all the talking… without showing too much, of course.

Khloe Kardashian is the queen of this look. She knows to define her bust from her waist and she stays away from the moo-moo look (spelling??).

Here she is…

And here’s a menu of what you can be wearing for under $50.00…

Thank You For Dry Shampoo!!

These last few days have been crazy … literally! Working weird hours, planning a tv seg, blogging, and a Britney Spears’ concert  left me without the luxury of hair-washing time.I still showered, just hyper speed.

Rather than looking like a complete grease ball, I opted for dry shampoo. I was a total dry shampoo virgin! I would just use baby powder – which does the job too, just more messy.

I’m going to explain how to use it, although I have a feeling this is the one trend I’m way behind on and reading this will bore you, but here goes.

I lifted sections of my hair, sprayed, and played with my hair a bit. That’s it!!!!

I own a few different kinds so a review will be up soon, but so far I’ve only used Psssssst Instant Spray Shampoo. It’s pretty much the pioneer of dry shampoo and for my first time it worked wonders.

Tried dry shampoo before? Share your review by leaving a comment, hitting up the FB wall, or a tweet will do!

Ohh, P.S. I’ll be on tv tomorrow talking about fashion quick fixes. If you’re a girl on the go tune in, set you TiVo, or wait till I post the link tomorrow. Thanks for reading!!!

Sale-Rack Report: Urban Outfitters Neutral & Cheap!

It’s hot out, I’m a bit sleepy, and today … I’m craving something light, breezy and effortless. You too? Ohh, and it must fit a skinny budget… duh!

Neutrals are always in fashion, but THIS summer they’re dominating and thanks to the minimalist trend. Found a light dress with a whimsical feel and it’s lightly priced too.

Tag: Pins and Needles Lace Two-in-One Dress, Orig. $59.99, Now $19.99 at Urban Outfitters.

It’s called a two-in-one. I couldn’t think of another way to wear it, so I’m assuming this refers to the two fabrics. What I love about this piece (besides the price) is that it’s plain, but it’s still really pretty and has character  – love the lace mixed with pleats!!!

Pair with almost anything!! I’m feeling a delicate necklace and soft hair/makeup to match.

Retail Review: Convertible LBD Now on SALE

When you’re on a skinny budget you gotta make the most out of your wardrobe, so that’s why I’m a big fan of basics. A little black dress, turned tunic, turned top? That’s three basics in one!

Revelation By Me recently sent me a convertible dress to try out. I gotta say, at first I was like “I don’t really know if I like this,” but then I got creative!

The tag displayed three ways to wear, and they were cool, but not necessarily my style. I played dress up and now, I’m all about this LB (convertible) D.

Check out how I styled it up.

Tag: Orig. $90.00, *UPDATE: Now $50.00.*

Look 1 – Cocktail Hour

To achieve this look I added length by letting out the draw strings on the sides. For the neckline I crossed the lace straps over my bust and twisted. I then wrapped the twisted straps around my neck and tucked. I think this neckline classes up the look creates a visually-interested effect – no necklaces required! I feel very Charlotte from Sex & the City. You agree?

Look 2 - Island Escape

This is a super comfortable and effortless look. I wrapped lace straps around my waistline (giving me more of an hourglass look) and pulled side draw strings up a little for a shorter hemline. I pair with an island-vibe necklace (parent’s bought for me on their cruise) and a wooden bangle. I was wearing turquoise sandals too.

Look 3 - After Hours

This look is my fave and will be worn often! I pulled the draw strings all the way in, tied and tucked. For the straps, I simply made it like a halter, but let the excess hang over my shoulders.

This is perfect for hitting the club, out for drinks with your girls or even a hot date. I paired with white jeans for a summertime edge, but would also want to try top with a wide -leg light wash or black cigarette jeans and block heels for a streamline look.

At first I thought $90 was a little high ( I’m on a very skinny budget!). Now that I’ve modeled my new dress I think $90 is more than fair. It’s so versatile, and comfortable! If you’re going on a vacay this is the must-have item. It’s perfect for the indecisive fashionista. You won’t have to overpack, but have one piece for whatever you end up doing!

So how hungry am I for this item? STARVING!
