Research your local thrift stores. I used to live in Society Hill and near adorable vintage boutiques on Fabric Row and Passyunk Ave. Two of my favorite stores included Philly AIDS Thrift and Retrospect. I was able to find gorgeous sequined tunics and silk shirts for a fraction of what the retail price would have been. Vintage finds are always my favorite!
Don’t buy only for the sale. Just because the sale is $9.99 doesn’t mean buy before you try: Zara is having a major sale right now and I must have walked into the fitting room with at least six items, but left with half of them. Trying on pieces that have slashed price tags will help you see if you REALLY need these items and if they fit you properly. I left Zara with black and white blouses appropriate for work and on trend for Spring 2013. I felt happy to be on trend and happy to have only spent $25 on three items! Continue reading…
