SRS: Hit The Sale Rack With StyledOutLoud

srs styledoutloud

Hello there, Trend Hungry readers! My name is Mecca Nuri – a Philadelphia wardrobe stylist and blog owner of StyledOutLoud. I just want to thank Jessie for granting me the opportunity to share with you my sale-shopping strategies as well as my favorite sale items of right now!

I am usually not an online shopper; I tend to stick to the good old fashioned in-store experience. However for sale purposes I have been checking out the virtual racks. What stores are on my radar, you ask? As of lately I enjoy ASOS, JC Penney and Urban Outfitters. Here are a few sale-shopping strategies I go by when making purchases, be it online or in-store:

  • DO know your budget. Prior to your shopping experience, make sure that you come up with a budget for your sale shopping and stick to it.
  • DON’T get sale/clearance happy. Sometimes we find so many awesome items that are marked down and naturally, we get excited. Remember that you have a budget so try to make sensible purchases.
  • DO look for student discounts. Not a student? Then see how else you can save by using coupon code websites such as RetailMeNot.com. Continue reading…

#SRS: Style Expert Jene Luciani Believes Style Should Fit Any Size #nota0campaign

Ladies – how many of you are dieting or vowing to exercise more this New Year? While healthy resolutions are always a good thing, it’s the UNhealthy ones that truly bother me. And when it comes to wanting to lose weight, a healthy aspiration can quickly turn unhealthy, before you even know it. As a veteran TV personality, author, columnist and someone who regularly goes on TV or appears at events giving fashion advice to women, I’m not blind to the fact that the fashion industry – and Hollywood for that matter – perpetuates an unnatural perception of what a woman’s body IS and should look like. While Jennifer Hudson may have lost her curves through a Weight Watchers diet and daily exercise with a trainer, others turn to starvation, excessive exercising and even worse methods – to get that coveted size zero frame.

So, after a recent appearance on the Dr. Oz Show, I received an email that motivated me to create a movement encouraging ALL women to finally accept and love the skin they are in. The email said “thank you for speaking to us – the REAL women of the world – and for not being a size zero.” Continue reading…

SRS: Sale-Rack Favorites of Jen Ramos from ‘MadeByGirl’

Jen Ramos, the creative blogger behind MadeByGirl , is an entrepreneur, artist, and a graphic designer based in NYC. Seeing that she’s so artistic, Jen has a great eye and also happens to know how to score a deal. Check out her ascetically-pleasing style on budget.  – Jessie

Personally, I do most of my shopping online because it saves me time & money. If you look, there’s plenty of discount codes/ free shipping codes always floating the web. However, just because something is on sale, doesn’t mean you should buy it. I usually like to find trendier pieces on sale, or an item I’ve had my eye on for a while! Continue reading…

SRS: Shopping Skills From Spoiled Pretty

Happy Wednesday!  I’m Daneen Baird, founder and editor-in-chief of Spoiled Pretty, an award-winning beauty blog and must-read guide to what’s new, what’s hot, and what’s next.  In 2007, I decided to publish product reviews as a way to justify my compulsion for buying cosmetics.  But very quickly, I realized that I was providing a valuable service: helping women make informed beauty decisions.
I’ve often said that – even if I was a multi-millionaire – I’d still be clipping coupons and making beelines for clearance racks.  Deal-hunting gives me a sense of control in a world full of chaos, so when Jessie asked me to do a guest post for Trend Hungry’s Sale Rack Skinny series, I immediately answered “yes!”

Here are a few of my favorite tips for sealing the deal:

1. QVC may not be as sexy as Sephora, but they have amazing beauty deals – plus products you can’t find anywhere else.  QVC partners with some of the hottest brands in the business (Bare Escentuals, Bobbi Brown, Clarisonic, Clinique, Kiehl’s, Make Up For Ever, Philosophy and Smashbox – just to name a few) to offer ‘Beauty Exclusives’ – new products and sets created exclusively for QVC. SRS: Blogger ‘BeijosTiffany’ Shares Sale Tips, Tricks, and Picks!

Happy Wednesday! I’m Tiffany from beijosTiffany. Living in a small town, I never really had many people to share my love of fashion with so I created beijosTiffany as a place to express myself and share my passions. BeijosTiffany is more than a style blog, it’s a lifestyle blog. You’ll find posts from yummy recipes, to sale posts, to outfits I’m wearing and places I’m traveling to.

Living within a budget is something I try very hard at doing. Yes I’d love to own that crave-worthy designer handbag, but sadly my wallet only stretches so far. After taking a vow to never use a credit card again, I find that I reconsider my purchases more than I ever used to. Online shopping is a great way to find bargains and helps me live within my means.

When I find an item that I need I always search and compare prices at other sites. Then I hop on my eBates Continue reading…

SRS: The Subtle Statement’s Sale Shop Tactics

Hi everyone, I’m Brittany from The Subtle Statement! I have a passion for styling everything from clothes to cupcakes. I have a weakness for pretty packaging, bows and glitter, and endless bottles of nail polish. My blog is a collection of my personal style, favorite beauty buys and latest fashion finds, with a dash of healthy recipes.

I’m pretty skillful in scoring serious deals on fabulous fashion and I’m excited to share my tips and latest finds with you! Some of my most fashionable finds are scores from the sale racks, and that just makes them all the more special.

Shop the Unexpected: Browse the racks at retailers you normally wouldn’t shop. I’ve scored so many cute finds at retailers whose brand may not be my general style, but there are always a couple of gems mixed into their assortment that I love. Continue reading…

SRS: Sprinkles in Springs Hunts Designer Style

Hi everyone, I’m Kara from Sprinkles in Springs! After graduating with my BFA in Graphic Design, I wanted to find a way to merge my two loves, fashion and design, into one creative outlet and connect with like-minded people. So, my blog was born and now I share favorite fashion trends, personal style, nail art, DIY projects and do the occasional fashion illustration. I love finding a good deal and sharing where to find the designer looks for less, or recreating the look yourself with a fun DIY project.

I like keeping an eye on the runway for the latest designer trends, while always keeping in mind practicality and versatility – that doesn’t mean I don’t sometimes get carried away by something as fabulous as a Miu Miu glitter bootie!

SRS: The Glossarie’s Beauty Bargains

It’s Lara from The Glossarie and I’m so excited to be shedding a little beauty light on to the Sale-Rack Skinny. Beauty products can be pricey and I know firsthand how hard it can be to find room in your budget to keep it pretty.  A few little tricks that I’ve mastered help to keep things within reason, without having to sacrifice your favorite products.

New beauty flash sale site Coterie has entered the scene with a bang! They’ve been featuring great brands like Butter London, MOR, and Kevin Aucoin at a big discount. Be sure to subscribe to their emails and never miss another beauty steal. I’ve also just been turned on to another flash sale beauty site called Cut & Blow, which looks amazing.
