In case you’re new to Trend Hungry, in addition to running this site I also blog for Simon Malls as their King of Prussia Setter. Not everything I write about for the Style Setter blog is as budget-friendly as on here, so I decided to take one of the topics I covered over there and show you styles for under $25! Yeah, you read correctly under $25!! As you can see, it’s all about the printed pants. They certainly make a statement, but may not be on trend in a year from now, so a budget buy on these babies is recommended.
Scroll through the showroom below and leave a comment saying which one is your fave!
Waiting and wishing for the perfect Valentine’s Day this year? I hope you’re planning on more than indulging in chocolate truffles and conversation hearts! Whether you’re coupled up or riding solo this V-Day, it’s the perfect chance to rock a cute and flirty mani! Break out your reds, pinks, hearts and sparkles, and with little creativity, you’ll have a romantic manicure that will have all your friends swooning a “Be Mine” <3!
So we all know the classic red manicure is always beautiful, but I think Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to shake things up a bit. So we searched the internet for some easy DIY’s for your digits!
1. Pink & Gold. This is similar to what Tracy Reese showed at this past NYFW. And, it’s something you can totally do free hand. Check out how Ivana Thinks Pink pulled it off! She did a video tutorial so stealing the looks is easy breezy!
2. Do Dots. To achieve dots on your digits, simply apply a base coat of red. Let your nails dry fully, then, using a a dotting tool (tooth pick or pointy Q-tip will do the trick), dip the end in a white polish (even White Out works!) and apply polka dots in any design you wish! Wait several minutes for the dots to dry to apply a clear top coat. Too cute! We found this look at Clothes, Cosmetics and Chat.
3. Seeing Pink. Check out this mani mix by Dressed Up Nails. It’s as user friendly as it gets, but still makes a statement.
4. Over-The-Moon-In-Love Mani. My personal favorite style may seem like the most intricate and challenging style, but even a nail-art newbie like myself pulled this one off with ease. The Beauty Department created this tutorial and they’re ultra fab for giving in-depth tutorials. It’s your basic half-moon mani, but with nails strips underneath instead of polish. Here’s the Trend Hungry tutorial on the half-moon mani.
Now that you’ve seen our faves, show us what you’ll be rocking this V-day! Comment and share your own marvelous manis or Instagram a pic and tag #trendhungry or @trendhungryblog!
They’re fun, flirty, and a chronic obsession for Taylor Swift! Polka Dots- a long-lived trend that has been passed down from generation to generation. Snapbacks & Tattoos put snapbacks back on the map, Nelly’s Air Force Ones reminded everyone to get their shoe game together, and Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini’ got ladies thinking about the summer. Fashionistas have been rockin’ polka dots dating all the way back to the ’60s (work it ladies!)
Today, this classic trend works great with beachwear, nightlife, and everyday living. If I had to make one assumption, I’d say T Swift is completely enthralled with this trend- check her out in the latest ad for Keds! That being said, let’s take a peek into how to successfully rock polka dots like the expert herself, Ms. Harry Styles (whoops, I mean T. Swift).
We’re one week closer to the fashionable festivities. On Sept 13th it’s going down at South Moon Under in Philadelphia. Touring Singer/Songwriter Julia Price is pretty freakin’ amazeballs … yeah, I said amazeballs. She’s been on “Good Morning America,” has Sara Bareilles (sry Sara!) shitting herself and also has really good fashion taste that just happens to fit a skinny budget. I’m smitten. Read her blog post below and check out her music. You, too will be smitten.
I love really girly clothes like what I’m wearing in the piano shot of the “Girlfriend”
music video. That’s why summer is my favorite season — dresses, jumpers, and patterned shorts! YES! Once the weather gets colder I usually bury myself in an oversized sweater, skinny jeans and some rockin’ boots!
I rarely spend over $50.00 on any clothing item unless I absolutely LOVE something! And by love, I don’t mean, “Oh this is cute,” I mean “I CAN NOT LIVE WITHOUT THIS!” I just feel like for every big designer getup you can get practically the same look for a smidgen of that price if you don’t mind doing the legwork.
I also tend to repeat my tops but I switch up the look by changing accessories or shoes. I’m big into big necklaces and some of my favorite ones cost me $7 at Forever21.
The one area I do allow for more spending flexibility is footwear, but that being said, I still can’t believe the STEAL I got for the shoes that I’m currently obsessed with my Betsey Johnson Tammiee flats. They sum up my style in a nutshell.
Tag: Betsey Johnson Tammiee Flats, Was $79.95, Now $63.96 at Zappos
Take Note: Come in pink with polka dots too!
To me, it’s always all about the shoes!

Nails! I love doing my nails! I love having them be a conversation starter, but not in a Lady GaGa crazy way. I still want to be able to function and pick up stuff … so fake nails are just not for me.
Here are some of my past manicures photographed on my Blackberry. I know, I know I need an iPhone. Then I’ll do mobile posts. In due time, in due time.
The Half Moon – paint the nails. Let dry, then use a contrasting color on the “moons” of your nail.
Tag: For the whole nail – Essie’s Shop Till I Drop , $3.00 at Max and Jill ( a local discount store) normally $8.00. For the moon Times Square Tangerine shade by New York Color, $1.00 at Walmart.
Polka-Dot Dream – polish the nails, let dry, add polka dots, dry, add top coat.
Tag: Essie’s Turquoise and Ciacos, $8.00.
For the white any drugstore brand will do as long as it’s thick, not pearly.
Take Note: Both of these designs were done freehand and were super simple. No special brushes were used.
So what do ya think? Comment me!!
iPhone 4! I want the iPhone 4!
Everyone already knows that Verizon is finally getting the iPhone 4. This piece of news did indeed travel like wild fire. Many are very excited (mostly Verizon users) and if you’re planning on snagging the phone, you better protect this piece of technology gold, and in style. What’s trending? Polka Dots.
This Juicy Couture iPhone case will keep you on trend while protecting your precious smart phone.
It comes in red and blue as well, and it’s $38.00 on the Juicy Couture Web site. The iPhone 4 joining Verizon is a big deal. If you are or plan to be an iPhone user, then you might as well invest in an accessory you’ll get use out of daily.
