One of my dear friends wrote a fabulous fashion book and we celebrating in style this Wednesday in Old City, Philadelphia. In the area? Come hang + dress to impress! Andrea Kiliany Thatcher is the name of my super-cool gal pal that wrote “The SPF LookBook: FROM ATELIER TO RUNWAY” and this book is chalked full of gorgeous looks and fashion insight.
Geek can be chic. Yes, I am using glasses as an accessory. No, I don’t have a prescription. Yes, I do feel a little Jenna-Lyons-esque. This blog post will be low on words and heavy on pictures in comparison to other posts. Instead, enjoy my awkward poses ( Nelly’s Ride Wit Me was playing) and cheap-chic outfit using the H&M dress I featured in last week’s Dare to Wear. Look for my third look in this dress next week.

DARE TO WEAR: a blog series dedicated to “dare to wear” the same thing three weeks in a row. If you’re gonna buy it, you better be able to wear it at least three ways, right? Each month a new item is featured and will be styled three ways over three weeks. Photos by Audrey Gallagher.

It’s the end of the first installment of Dare to Wear, the new blog series where we dare to wear the same piece three weeks in a row! Over the last three weeks I’ve taken my hot-pink pants in three different style directions – preppy, business chic, and now a look perhaps too haute for a hike?
This shade certainly will not blend in outdoors and this outfit isn’t really for hiking. It’s for looking fabulous this fall – isn’t that enough?
Make a bright shade more fall friendly by styling with more subdued shades – think oatmeal, light gray, camel, and olive. Swap out the heeled booties for something more comfortable and rocky-path friendly if you’re looking to take a stroll in the woods.

I am loving writing the Friday Find. It’s making me excited to shop and this designer deal is one you won’t want to pass up. These fun Kate Spade clutches are more than half off, coming is at $35.
The bags are technically considered canvas cosmetic pouches, but are clearly meant to wear as the main attraction – they’re far to cute to keep inside your purse. Bags have a zip-top closure and are trimmed with leather.
Style Tip: Store your key essentials in the bag for quick trips and fun outings and toss in your bigger bag for work and days that require carrying more.
So which bag do you prefer?

Strike.A.Pose. Oh hey, It’s model Jessie here. Just kidding, but seriously I’m modeling fall fashion in a magazine!!!

How amazing is my $25 vintage fur over this dreamy dress from Nich!?! Posing my toes for a shoes shot.
Resting my eyes between shots. Obsessed with this Sears top paired with scalloped leather shorts from South Moon Under.
Posing with Linda after the shoot. She did my hair and makeup. I need to learn to curl my hair the way she did it!
I can’t wait to show you all the amazing photos and more outfit details. More details to come!

As you know, I don’t just spend to spend. My purchases are calculated and certain items make the splurge-worthy list, while others I’d prefer to go cheap on. So when Woman’s Day was in need of some financially-savvy shopping I was happy to lend my tips.
Whoa! Everyone in the blogosphere has been buzzing about Beyonce wearing Topshop. Even I mentioned it in my round-sunglass post, but what about Jay Z? Um, he too was wearing something we normal people can afford, and in fact it’s a brand his wifey has been spotted in before.
So let’s break it down. And of course, ladies first.
FashionBombDaily.com reports Beyonce wore a $22 Topshop tube top with a matching skirt for $44. And of course, it’s pretty much sold out. The skirt is still availabe in a size 10 so if that’s you snag it before it’s too late.
As for her hubs, he donned a $68 sweatshirt from Sportiqe. This brand makes sportswear cool and effortless. Shop Jay Z.’s shirt at Urban Outfitters.
