{ Trend Hungry Tuesday } Little Winter-White Dresses

The little black dress has been a style staple for a long time. The little white dress, it’s just as versatile and fit for the season. Just take a note from some famous fashionistas.

Jennifer Lawrence wowed in a a custom white gown with gold beading details last night to “The Hunger Games Mockingjay — Part 2″ premiere in LA.  Beyoncé recently wore a white dress to a wedding and had Blue Ivy in a coordinating white dress with tulle. Continue Reading

{ Dare To Wear } How To Layer Up Your Little Black Dress

Is it me or do these pics have a slight Halloween vibe? Maybe it’s the location (the church at my alma mater, Cabrini College), or the the dark lip + dark hair + dark clothing. I tend to wear lighter colors close to my hair to brighten up my look, which is maybe why I naturally finished the outfit with an olive topper. Is there a color you avoid close to your face? For me, it’s usually black, since by hair is so dark and it’s just a whole lot of darkness. Continue Reading

{ Dare To Wear } Mustard + Olive

It’s fall. I’m thrilled! It’s only the best season for dressing. You can still rock warm-weather pieces on the hotter days, and enjoy layering up — my favorite. Here I’m happening to be wearing two shades I’m obsessed with for the season, olive + mustard. Continue Reading

{ Dare To Wear } Stripes + Floral

This outfit is made up of a few of my favorites (what else is new?). You may recognize the tank top I’m donning. It made a cameo last month on the blog & to be honest, I wear it so much that it only seemed fitting to make it the Dare To Wear item for August. Besides it being super cute & comfy, it also has pockets! Plus it passes the “messy Jessie test” with flying colors. I just coined that term now. Translation = I can wear it, forget to hang or fold it, and it still looks fabulous and ready for another wear.

Scroll on. New pics + style tips await.

{ Style Tips }

1. Mix prints with ease by keeping one print subtle. The stripes on the tank top are tiny enough to allow the floral pants to shine without competing.

2. Elevate your outfit with accessories. These French terry pants + this tank top = super comfy. Therefore these pieces can easily be styled ultra casual, say with slip-on sneakers or flat sandals. A hat + wedges takes this look a whole different direction.

3. Don’t worry about an exact match. Who ever taught us as kids that our shoes, and bag, and jewelry, and everything else need to match perfectly was putting us in a fashion box. Nobody puts baby in a corner or a box, so forget it. Yes, these cropped pants have a purple hue in them. It may not be the exact shade of the top but it totally works. Trust your eye.

{ Trend Hungry Tuesday } The Chicest Way To Wear A Jacket

Have you noticed? Celebs are wearing their jackets in the chicest way, over their shoulders. This easy style statement has a way of dressing up the most casual look. Of course it wouldn’t be Trend Hungry Tuesday if there wasn’t some celebrity name dropping, and a number of A-list style setters have been skipping the sleeves and styling their outwear this way.

Just recently Kim Kardashian West rocked her leather jacket over her shoulders while blocking her baby bump. Demi Lovato sported a similar style last week and paired her DSquared jacket with ripped jeans. Continue Reading

{Celeb Style} Miranda Kerr & Kourtney Kardashian in Double Denim

Traditionally, double denim is seen as a giant fashion faux pas. But for the past three years, this trend has become more and popular.

Notice the two different ways these two famous fashionista are wearing this trend. Miranda Kerr has her top tucked in for a more polished look, while Kourtney Kardashian has hers untucked for a more casual style. Either way, their styles give off a softer look and vibe. Their simplistic choices make double denim look flawless.

This trend is super attainable with a skinny budget. We all probably have a favorite pair of jeans, so all we really need is a good top. Here’s some double-denim inspiration:

There are a few rules to this trend, such as:

1. Mix your washes

For a more contrast, pair a light chambray top with darker bottoms. A darker wash on the bottom create an elongated  leg and & slimming effect.

2. Don’t go overboard

As a stretch, think of Justin Timberlake & Britney Spear’s infamous double-denim look, circa 2001.  That’s what not to wear.

3. Create a softer look

Add strappy heels or put on a neutral statement necklace. The style this look takes on really depends on how you choose to accessorize.

4. Tuck and roll

Take a cue for Ms. Kerr by cuffing your sleeves. Or tuck in the top to show your waist.

Whose look do you prefer – Miranda Kerr or Kourtney Kardashian?

Eco-Chic on the Cheap: H&M’s Conscious Collection

Happy Earth Day! Showing Mother Nature love and respect is always in season, but this time of year gives us that reminder we need to celebrate our planet. Well, celebrate in style. Being eco-chic doesn’t have to break the bank, and H&M is leading the way in eco-friendly fashions with their mission for sustainable style.

H&M’s Conscious Collection first debuted in 2011 and since then has only grown. It’s fashionable, affordable, and made organic cotton, organic hemp, organic silk, and just recently came out with organic leather. Recycling is big too for this brand and turns water bottles into fabric among other recycled materials used.

Celebrities wear H&M

Yeah, they do. Miranda Kerr, Jessica Alba, & Solange Knowles all have donned H&M’s Conscious Collection. Penelope Cruz took her love for H&M eco-friendly mission and wore a custom gown by the Conscious Collection team to an Oscar after party.

Shop the collection

There are a lot of fabulous finds in this line and they’re not crazy expensive. They’re typical H&M prices and the designs are on point, but selling out. Here’s a few of my favorite. Comment below and share which one you like best?

{Dare to Wear} Geek-Chic Glasses Like Jenna Lyons

Geek can be chic. Yes, I am using glasses as an accessory. No, I don’t have a prescription. Yes, I do feel a little Jenna-Lyons-esque. This blog post will be low on words and heavy on pictures in comparison to other posts. Instead, enjoy my awkward poses ( Nelly’s Ride Wit Me was playing) and cheap-chic outfit using the H&M dress I featured in last week’s Dare to Wear. New Way to Wear Monochrome

Monochrome is when a look (typically a picture, painting, or design) consists of one color. That one color can vary in shade and in terms of fashion, trying the monochromatic outfit can make you look slimmer and sleek, but sometimes boring.

So, here’s an outfit serving up all the good things the monochrome fashion trend has to offer minus losing your personality.

As you can see, I broke up my wine style with black boots and a striped sweater.  I feel so Parisian. Not gonna lie, wish the hat was a slightly different shade, but whatever.
