{ Trend Hungry Tuesday } Tips To Mixing Prints Like Beyonce

Have fun with fashion. This trend requires it. It’s mixing prints together. So plaid and polka dots is a now a fashion DO as are stripes and floral designs. This is one trend you have to try to for yourself and a few celebs are showing us how it’s done.

Gwen Stefani always looks so put together but always with a cool, rocker edge. This past weekend she rocked striped sunnies with a dotted top and plaid pants.

Beyoncé is another who’s been into pairing prints lately and posted a few different outfit pictures on Instagram.

{ Trend Hungry Tuesday } Two Easy Outfits for New Year’s Eve

In less than 48 hours the ball drops and a new year begins. So the real question is, what will you be wearing to ring in 2015? I’ll make it easy for ya with these two quick outfit ideas.

{ Opt for embellishments. }

Why? Styles with sequins or beadwork, or both add the those special touches so require little accessorizing. Let the dress be the statement. Celebs opt for embellished looks all the time and know not to overwhelm the look with too much jewelry, including Taylor Swift and Beyoncé.

{ Dress up your jeans. }

It’s easy, comfy, and warm — three big selling points. Keep it cool and classy by taking a cue from Kim Kardashian West and opt for all-black everything, black jeans with a black shirt and top with a blazer or leather jacket. Keep the look from feeling too casual and by adding a red lip and chandelier earrings. Hair, makeup, and accessories play a major part in glamming up your laid-back look.

Fringe With Benefits

I’m completely falling for fringe this season. So, what are the benefits of fringe? It’s eccentric, adds detail, and infuses texture into even the most boring of outfits.

You can even wear fringe every day. Cut your hair and get a fab fringe…I’m totally pro-fringe ;).

Here are three fringe pieces under $50 and three quick tips on how to wear fringe:

{Shop It} Missguided Ivona Black Fringed Faux Suede Jacket, $47 // Forever 21 Faux Suede Fringe Tote, $28 //

Urban Outfiters Geo-Fringe Triangle Scarf, $28

Although this trend can be super casual, fringe can go elegant as well. Case and point: Olivia Wilde wearing a vintage fringe gown at this year’s CFDA Awards.

Tip #1: Wear ONE fringe piece.

Too much of any trend is never good. Less is more! Just imagine a fringe jacket, fringe skirt, fringe scarf, and a fringe bag all in one outfit. Overload!

Tip #2: Go modern.

Fringe can be reminicent of the flappers and old western movies. Put a modern spin on it and go for a sleek look, such as pairing a fringe jacket with black skinny jeans. Très chic.

Tip #3: Choose a fringe that matches your face shape.

This tip refers to fringe for your face, aka bangs. Different face shapes call for different fringes. Here’s a hair guide that breaks it down.

{Barbie Fashions} Come On Barbie, Let’s Go Party!

If you haven’t heard about Mattel’s collaboration with Forever 21, Lord & Taylor, and Wildfox Couture…you MUST look it up. As a huge Barbie fan, I could not stop thinking about their Barbie collection. The Forever 21 collection is already out and I’m SO madly in love. Word is, the Lord & Taylor and Wildfox Couture’s Barbie collections will come out in November.

Forever 21′s collaboration gives off a street style vibe, making all the pieces easy to style for casual days. As for now, here are some of my favorites from Forever 21′s exclusive collection, #BARBIELOVES21:

{Shop It} Barbie Graphic Bodysuit, $11 // Barbie Graphic Boxy Tee, $16 // OG Doll Graphic Crop Top, $15 // Barbie Travel Cosmetic Case, $10 // Fold-Over Barbie Beanie, $8

My favorite item from the Forever 21 collection is no longer in stock online, but I managed to find it in stores last Saturday (at King of Prussia mall) and I quickly bought it…it’s their “I Woke Up Like This” Muscle Tee…I’m overly obsessed.

All three retailers will have affordable and not-so-affordable pieces. Here are the price ranges: Forever 21 ($3 – $24), Lord & Taylor ($32 – $46), and Wildfox Couture ($37 – $183). Also, each collection has a specific theme/decade. How cute, right?! Forever 21 has a ’90s look. Wildfox Couture is going for a Malibu Barbie line that will be available at Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’ and Saks Fifth Avenue, while Lord & Taylor will be showcasing the ’50s & ’60s in sleepwear.

In my eyes, Barbie has always been a fashion icon and this collaboration makes me very very excited! Can’t wait for the other two collections to come out :-).

Is Barbie your fashion icon? What’s your favorite item in the Barbie collection?

{Trend Hungry Tuesday} Falling For Fur Collars

Today is the first full day of fall and this season is all about the layers and playing up textures. One texture that’s back every year when cool weather comes is fur and at Trend Hungry we opt for the faux variety. It’s cheap, chic, and doesn’t hurt the cute furry critters we love so much.

Kim Kardashian West recently stepped out in an orange fur stole atop her coat to board a flight and she’s not the only celebrity who accessorizes with fur. Ariana Grande, J.Lo,  Rihanna, and Rita Ora have all rocked the fur collar trend.

Celebs may drop serious bank on their furry fashions, but you certainly don’t have to. In fact, Asos has a fur collar on sale right now for under $12. Wear over a blazer, trench, leather jacket, or pea coat and add a little fur to your look in an instant.

{Shop It} Asos Faux Fur Short Collar,  $38.09 $11.43 // Forever 21 Faux Fur Collar Coat, $57.90  //Missguided Rebel Long Faux Fur Collar Grey $24.68.

Celebrity, Fashion, Steal The Style, Style Lessons, Style Tips, who wore it better?

{Celeb Style} Miranda Kerr & Kourtney Kardashian in Double Denim

Traditionally, double denim is seen as a giant fashion faux pas. But for the past three years, this trend has become more and popular.

Notice the two different ways these two famous fashionista are wearing this trend. Miranda Kerr has her top tucked in for a more polished look, while Kourtney Kardashian has hers untucked for a more casual style. Either way, their styles give off a softer look and vibe. Their simplistic choices make double denim look flawless.

This trend is super attainable with a skinny budget. We all probably have a favorite pair of jeans, so all we really need is a good top. Here’s some double-denim inspiration:

H&M Skinny Regular Jeans (Dark), $40 | H&M Skinny Regular Jeans, $30 | Halogen Long Sleeve Chambray, $68 now $39 | Forever 21 Collared Chambray Shirt, $29

There are a few rules to this trend, such as:

1. Mix your washes

For a more contrast, pair a light chambray top with darker bottoms. A darker wash on the bottom create an elongated  leg and & slimming effect.

2. Don’t go overboard

As a stretch, think of Justin Timberlake & Britney Spear’s infamous double-denim look, circa 2001.  That’s what not to wear.

3. Create a softer look

Add strappy heels or put on a neutral statement necklace. The style this look takes on really depends on how you choose to accessorize.

4. Tuck and roll

Take a cue for Ms. Kerr by cuffing your sleeves. Or tuck in the top to show your waist.

Whose look do you prefer – Miranda Kerr or Kourtney Kardashian?

American-Flag Fashion Under $30, Inspired by Beyonce

Let’s celebrate the U-S-A. Independence Day is this Friday and stars and stripes are trending. The American-flag print is being donned by the stars.

Ariana Grande recently rocked a patriotic skirt while performing for a taping of Macy’s Annual 4th of July Spectacular. The Queen B, Miss Beyonce also took the trend to the stage with a flag-print dress by Givenchy while performing with Jay Z. for their On The Run tour. Thanks MTVStyle for sharing this pic found here: Instagram @RiccadroOtisci17

Of course flag fashion isn’t a new trend. Other star spotted in stars and stripes include Kesha, Jessica Simposn, Katy Petty, Rihanna and Justin Bieber. The Biebs wore it from head to toe a few years ago in a onesie, which is now on sale by the way.

{Celebrity Trend} Checkerboard Print

Black & white has been a big trend for a while now and the checkerboard print is a hit among celebrities. Did you see Iggy Azalea’s Good Morning America performance last week? Miss Iggy donned a black and white checkerboard suit, styling this trend from head to toe, while her crew rocked coordinating houndstooth.

Other famous fashionistas seen spotted in the square print include Rihanna, Gwen Stefani, Jessica Alba, January Jones, and Miley Cyrus.

You don’t have to stick to black and white, though this trend seems to be a big hit in the opposing shades. Michelle Obama has tried the trend in red & white and Kirsten Dunst opted for a brown and beige version.

Snag for a steal

Go trendy. It’s a bold print so may not be a piece you wear on the regular so don’t break the bank to buy it. Forever 21 has this checkerboard, drop-waist dress on sale for $21.

Forever 21 at ShopStyle

Try a bright lip to add a pop of color to your black & white look and try cat-winged eyeliner to keep it feeling mod and feminine.

More options

Scroll to see my product picks. All are under $100 and checker-board chic!

So will you be trying the trend?
