{Invite} Blonde & Bling Benefit

It’s my very first Bling Babe popup shop (my vintage jewelry biz)! It’s also the day to get your hair blonded for summer and pick up a new tank or tote from local brand Piccolo Amore. It’s the Blonde & Bling Benefit, aka an excuse for new jewels, hair, and fashions in the sake of fundraising for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Play hooky this Tuesday or take a long lunch.

If you keep up with me, then you know I’m a nominee for Woman of the Year with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and I’ve been busy fundraising. Well my campaign is coming to an end next week and this is a great way to help a wonderful cause while getting yourself styled for summer. Andre Richard Salon will offer 20% off blonding serviced for the day, plus will be donating a 10% of the proceeds of the days services to LLS  and 20% of all product sales.

Of course the popup shops are charitable. $10 of every sale of Piccolo Amore & Bling Babe will be donated as well. Stop putting off getting your  hair transitioned into summer and book now. Or feel free to stop in and say hi to peruse the popup shops.

Can’t make it but want to donate? Click here to make a donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Thanks for your support!!

{Watch It} Kohl’s Google+ Hangout with Elle Magazine!!

Just a few days ago Trend Hungry joined in on Kohl’s Google+Hangout and talked trends from Catherine Malandrino’s new budget-friendly line with Elle Magazine’s Fashion News Director Anne Slowey as well as two budget-blogging babes, Dianna of The Budget Babe & Shannon of The Simple Moms.

It was so fun to partner with Kohl’s on this and to give shoppers a special look at the line’s trends & answer fan questions.

You will LOVE this line & I’m not just saying it. The clothes fit so comfortably and this whole collection really captures Parisian style. Plus there’s a ton of black & white pieces in the collection, which is a HUGE HUGE trend.

Here are the links to the black & white sweater I wore & the knitted skirt perfect for traveling that I mentioned & held up.

HopeCuts: Discounts at Top Salons & Spas This Weekend for Charity! (book now!!)

If you stalk my life out like I hope you do (wink, wink, follow me on Instagram!) then you know I’ve been changing up my hair a lot lately. Over the summer I got highlights and a trim, then more lights and a little more length off via my sneak peek at ARS Lab. And now with HopeCuts right around the corner I decided to do it again and this time went for a long bob Topper’s Salon & Spa.

I’m telling you this because if you’re thinking of switching up your hair, now is the time! Not only is it a time for a new ‘do, but you may also snag a discount while helping a worthy cause. This Sunday, September 15, 2013 (and other select dates), 100+ salons and spas in PA, DE, NJ, DC, VA (and beyond) will donate 100% of the proceeds from haircuts (and other services) to help fight cancer, HIV/AIDS, diabetes and other life threatening illnesses.

Yup, salon and spa employees will open shop on their day off to volunteer their time and many salons will offer deep discounts, makeover, beauty baskets, door prizes, entertainment, complimentary refreshments and much more.

HopeCuts” began 18 years ago and has raised over $4 million dollars.  The event began in 1995 when a local cosmetology school opened their doors and dedicated an entire Saturday to raise funds for cancer and HIV/AIDS research at City of Hope.  It’s really taken off and today, “HopeCuts” events are held at hundreds of high-end salons across the country.

Sounds like a good time to switch up you hair or even book a mani/pedi. To find out what salons & spas are participating in your area visit www.cityofhope.org.

I still can’t believe I chopped my locks, but am LOVING this look. It makes every outfit look more chic – seriously! It also goes great with cat-eye sunnies and a poker face – very Posh Spice. Thank Toppers!!

What style are you thinking of trying? Comment below!

3 Tips to Kissable Lips Just in Time for International Kissing Day!

international kiss day: tips to your most kissable lips

Did you know that you will probably be spending 366 hours of your life kissing?! Prepare to ramp that number up because this Saturday is International Kissing Day! Before you pucker up and get your smooch on, we’ve got some tips for you to get the softest, most kissable lips ever!

international kiss day: tips to your most kissable lips

Tip #1: Hydrate.

The key to soft and kiss-ready lips is staying hydrated! Oftentimes lips get chapped due to lack of moisture underneath the skin, so drink up that H20 (8 glasses a day is recommended, but I recommend adding a few more, especially in the summer heat!)

Tip #2: Exfoliate.

While staying hydrated is important, sometimes it doesn’t always prevent chapped, dry lips. Out in the sun, your lips really take a beating. To slough off the outer layer of dead skin cells, use a mild lip exfoliant once or twice a week. This will keep your lips baby soft, but me mindful of not scrubbing too hard or too often, which will cause irritation.

DIY to Try: Our  Summer Sugar Scrub works wonderfully not only for body, but for lips too!

Tip #3: Moisturize and Protect.

In the morning, it’s important to apply lip balm and reapply throughout the day to keep your puckers moisturized and prevent cracking. Always use a balm containing SPF! Even on cloudy days or days stuck in the office, those harmful UV rays still find their way in so you want to remain protected. Sunburned lips are not fun, not cute, and definitely not kissable!

Before bed, pat on a layer of Vaseline. This ultra-moisturizing drugstore miracle works overnight to seep into lips and keeps then moisturized throughout the next day.

Editor Pick: Sun Bum Banana Lip Balm Broad Spectrum SPF 30+,$4 at Nordstrom.

Sunny's Art Store kisses

Follow these three steps and you’ll be smooch ready in time for Saturday!

Want to join in on the kissing fun & help break a world record?

Put those kissable lips and help LUSH Cosmetics beat a Guinness world record for most “kiss prints” collected! Come out to LUSH Walnut St. or The King of Prussia Mall to share your smooch between 11am-3pm to take part in this record-breaking attempt! Click here to find a Lush near you. The current record LUSH is attempting to break was set by Oriflame Slovakia, who collected 22,174 lipstick prints in 12 hours on September 14, 2010.

Can’t stop by the store? Snap a pic of your best kiss cruelty-free kiss on Instagram (Lush products are cruelty free!!), tag it using #crueltyfreekisses, and you’re in the running to win an entire Emotional Brilliance collection.

So take these tips, celebrate International Kissing Day AND attempt to beat a world record with your now perfect pout! We’ll bet you’ll want every day to be International Kissing Day!
