Hollywood’s finest stepped out dressed to impress (and some didn’t) for the 87th Academy Awards. As I watched from home last night a few dresses had me flip flopping. One second I wasn’t a fan, and a minute later I was moving the style to my best-dressed list. This morning I joined Fox29’s Good Day Philadelphia to chat about the Oscar fashions. It’s always a good day when I get to visit Good Day (corny, but true). Here are my top five fashion favorites from the 2015 Oscars.
Ear cuffs are becoming a hot statement piece on the red carpet. A few leading ladies rocked the jewelry trend at the 2015 SAG Awards. Emma Stone donned a white-gold ear cuff with diamonds by Repossi while Keira Knightley opted for a similar style by the same designer in a pink-gold finish. Rashida Jones dazzled in two blingy ear cuffs that’s reported to cost $130,000. Wow.
When it comes to hair, often the most complementary styles are nearly effortless. Case and point, Reese Witherspoon‘s low ponytail at the 21st annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. It works just as well on long bob as it does on really-long locks and only takes a few minutes to master.
Truth: I typically don’t think of a ponytail when I think of the red carpet, but you know what? It’s very clean, chic, and allows the person’s beauty to be the real focal point. Emma Stone also opted for the simple style with her short ‘do.
Ready to wear this red-carpet hairstyle in real life? Here’s how to achieve the look.
As usual, I’m talking about the Kardashians. It’s not my fault they follow all the trends. Pretty much everyone in K. Dash klan has worn a bow tie. Kim, Khloe, Kourt, even momma Kris, and Bruce’s babies Kendall and Kylie have all been spotted.
This top is under $20 and can be rocked any season!

Wouldn’t it be nice if some of Hollywood’s best dressed lent their expertise to us on a daily basis? In a dream world I would open an iPhone app every morning to fashion blogs personally written by some of my favorite dressed celebrities. Beyonce’s blog wets our palette for celeb style, and here are five more we’d like to see more fashion from.
From edgy , classic , everyday and crazy I’d pick my mood and read my blog. Yes, in a perfect world everyday would be a fashion show and it would be easy to know what exactly was going through the mind of my favorite celeb when they stepped out of the house. Since this is probably a far off dream, let’s pretend! Here are some of my dream bloggers.
1.Lauren Conrad: Lauren Conrad is one of my favorite designers. Making fashion look effortless I absolutely love her desire for floral print. She gives off a old fashion glam look while still looking up to date and lovely. She may have a beauty blog (TheBeautyDeptartment.com) and blog on LaurenConrad.com, but I want to see her style daily… and maybe copy it.
2. Katy Perry. Feeling crazy? Then rock the blue hair and dramatic lashes! Katy Perry teaches us that you’re never too old to have fun with fashion. You can make a statement every day; don’t be afraid to take a risk.
3. Blake Lively is always on top of new trends. As fashionable as the character she plays on tv, she looks chic in every day clothes and in formal wear. Known for a sleek and stylish look Blake always rocks top designer looks. Get her look!
Ever have one of those days when you just don’t feel like going through the countless steps of your hair routine? With static hair thanks to our favorite winter fashions, there’s bound to be more of us in this boat than usual. The fix? Try an easy up-do! Whether you’re late, lazy, or just too busy, we’ve got quick styles and tips for looking pretty and pulled together in no time at all.
A huge summer trend is bright color, but it’s not just for clothes. Bright lips are the hottest in fun, summery makeup. The classic red is practically playing it safe. This season opt for a juicy coral or hot pink.
Bright Celebrity lips include: Kourtney Kardashian, Taylor Momsen, Rihanna, Lauren Conrad, Jessica Simpson.
Ready for the look on a skinny budget? Try out a drugstore lipstick. If you like it, opt for a more expensive brand so color will last long or try a lip stain such as Revlon’s Just Bitten ($8.00) in Passion. My current favorite cheap lipsticks are by Wet n Wildand they’re a steal at only $.99! Try shades Coral-ine and Light Berry Frost – both are fabulous!!
Another favorite of mine in New York Color. This is another brand that’s as cheap as a d0llar, plus they have lip glosses if you’re looking for the color without the shock factor.
I know my last post and my tv appearance was all about shoes, but sometimes it just NEEDS to be about SHOES. “LIKE OH MY GOD, SHOES!”
And I just gotta talk about this new metallic platform pump via Forever 21/ praise Forever 21 once again. This store should pay me for how much I talk about them … right?? I’d gladly accept free shoes *wink, wink*
So this pump looks a lot like the maniac pump by Brian Atwood, aka a celeb obsession! Not to be a name dropper, but celeb sightings include Emma Roberts, Ashley Tisdale, Katy Perry, Kate Hudson, Kristen Bell, and Victoria Beckham. WOW!
The designer heel is about $600.00, but the Forever 21 shoe is under $25.00. Here are the details to satisfy your metallic-pump craving. Yummy!

I know that this whole last week in fashion media was ALL about the Golden Globes. Here at TrendHungry I typed two red-carpet trends: spiky shoes and green on the scene. I totally thought that would be all I would touch upon regarding the Golden Globes. I mean, c’mon every other show and site have already discussed everyone’s fashion choices enough. Let’s move on, right?
I would have totally agreed, until I was sent something so perfect for TrendHungry. Look-a-like jewelry. Want to wear a piece like one of your favorite celebs? Now you can and you don’t have to fork over your rent or unborn child. Here’s the skinny on a fab and affordable online jewelry store called EmmaStine.com.
Here’s Emma Stone wearing earring pretty similar to a pair from Emma Stine. Did I mention Emma Stone was getting lots of love for her clean and classy style on the red carpet? Oh, and these look-a-like earrings are $38.00, but look WAY more pricey. Cheap and chic!
Next up is another beauty queen that rocked a clean silhouette and simple-chic earrings, Claire Danes. This pretty pair can be worn with pretty much anything – jeans and a tee, a LBD, on the red carpet, you name it. They’ll never go out of style and a mere $40.00 for something you’ll own forever ain’t too shabby.
Last, but certainly not least is a necklace that got a lot of camera time, seeing as this was worn by the swan of the hour, Miss Natalie Portman. This is a little pricy ($129.00) for this thrifty blog, but it makes the cut cause it’s so darn sparkly and because Natalie Portman is a huge deal. **Hurry though, there’s only one left!**
