There’s a cool hair accessory that I’ve had my eye on for a little while and now is the perfect time to talk about them because they’re great for concert festivals, prom, team spirit, or any special occasion. Charmsies is the name and they’re little tiny charms that iron onto hair. They were also just featured in the new “Cinderella” movie. Both the Fairy Godmother (Helena Bonham Charter) and Cinderella (Lily James) donned Charmsies. So pretty!
Hello spring! Yesterday was the first day of the new season and it also snowed most of the day. I kept my jean jacket and these cute shoes in the closet and opted for boots, winter coat, and a beanie while trekking to NYC and back (I’m working on something new and can’t wait to spill the beans super soon!!).
I can get ready pretty quick. A speedy shower (though I prefer long and leisurely ones) followed by a pinch of makeup, and I’m out the door. Perhaps I have it down to a fast formula because I love to procrastinate and wait until the last possible moment to start getting ready, or maybe it’s because I’ve always opted to hit the snooze again, and again. Either way, having a fast-paced primping plan in my arsenal has always come in handy.
This week’s trend is one that’s great for this transitional season. It’s also versatile and works on various ages, body types, and styles. As the title told you, it’s all about jumpsuits.
Wear casual and cool, JLo did just a few days ago in a one-piece jean ensemble. Or opt for a jumpsuit for when you’re feeling fancy. During award-show season Gwen Stefani rocked a jumpsuit at the Grammys while Emma Stone dawned her pretty-pant look at the Golden Globes. Other celebs recently spotted wearing this trend include Jada Pinkett Smith, Porta Di Rossi, and Kim Kardashian West.
One question I get a lot is what brands do I love/where I do shop. The answer is always the same yet different. It starts with “everywhere” and ends with a different list of favorites — depending on mood, moment and memory, of course. This post is not going to list out my favorite brands and shops (though I will add that to my idea notebook). No, instead it’s a roundup of pretty things from a line I tend to have very good luck with, LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s. The designs are really cute, fit my style and body, and then there’s also the fact that Kohl’s is almost never not running some sort of sale.
This time she’s taking a whimsical approach with inspiration from a certain well-known story, Cinderella. Here’s how to do fairytale fashion in real life. Below are three looks along with my take on wear to where & why I love it.
Hello to waking up an hour earlier and spring so close you can taste it. I love this time of year. It’s finally feeling acceptable to leave the house without a heavy winter coat, and so that’s why this month’s fashion find on repeat is a jean jacket. Last week I decided to Dare To Wear the jacket with a colorful maxi to make it feel more casual, cool and spring apporpriate. This week’s outfit post is continuing with the theme of transitional style that this season brings.
Paris Fashion Week is winding down, but there’s one trend I keep noticing on so many of the celebs in attendance, fur. We’re opting for the faux variety, but before the budget-friendly shopping picks, let’s chat about who was spotted in a furry fashion at PFW.
A happy life clearly isn’t all about clothes, bags, and beauty products (though they help). It’s about treating yourself well. That includes what you eat, drink, think, and do to take care of yourself. Trend Hungry contributor Melissa Quin is our go-to gal for all things wellness. She’s always trying out new healthy lifestyle trends and can be found around Philadelphia drinking organic juice, joining a workout meetup, or blending fitness and fashion in an athleisure look (she told me what athleisure was, by the way!!). Inspired by Melissa’s blog, SkinnyAffair, once a month she’ll be bringing a dose of the wellness scene to TrendHungry.com. Now read on and stay well! – JH
March is the beginning of S P R I N G! Philadelphia’s still a bit too chilly for regular outdoor workouts, but there are still a ton of ways to keep healthy and happy while warm weather is on the way. I’ve rounded up five wellness trends to transport you to warmer days ahead. Here’s the skinny…
On Friday I chatted prom fashion on Fox29 (and Vivica Fox was guest hosting!!). Saturday came and I hosted Lord & Taylor’s prom fashion show (so much fun!!). Now it’s Sunday and I’m window shopping prom styles, shoes specifically. Is there a prom coming up for me? No, but that’s no reason not to want to dress up. Now, I know a ball gown won’t fit in with most people’s lifestyle (nor is it my style), but a great pair of party pumps never fail to add glamour to even jeans and a tee. Let’s skip the dresses and head straight to the fabulous footwear. Here are some special shoes fit for prom, a swanky soirée, or just chilling … and they’re all on sale.
LifeSTYLE Tip: Wear special pieces on the regular to make everyday special.
Happy Birthday to me! I’m officially a year older today and I thought a bright outfit was in order to greet my 27th year of life. Spring is on the horizon (though there’s also a snow storm coming for Philadelphia tomorrow), so at least this look helps me think warm thoughts. I’m also thinking lots of positive thoughts too and being really reflective. Birthdays tend to do that to me, and holidays in general.
So I thought I’d share a little more about me in this post than just style tips. Here are seven random facts, since 27 seems like overkill.
1. I’m not naturally a morning person, like at all. I’ve been slowly training myself to become one but at least once a week get off track.
