It’s now officially summer and with the new season comes a new designer diffusion line to Target. This time it’s all accessories. The Eddie Borgo for Target look book for the “out of this world” collection recently landed in my inbox and I gotta say that I’m loving what I’m seeing.
Working on blog posts sure does help me in the outfit department. This Dare To Wear blog series challenges me to remix my style pairings and create more looks. The result, more outfit ideas at my fingertips for those busy days that leave little time for picking the perfect ensemble.
You may notice that this jumpsuit is Lilly Pulitzer for Target. I stumbled upon it a few weeks after the collection old out when I was visiting Target for organic chips and salsa (the pineapple salsa is SO good!). The jumpsuit fit and came home with me. Since then I’ve worn it to a luncheon, TV segment, and hanging around. I think with the vest is how I like it best.
Ear cuffs & climbers aren’t the only cool earring accessories. Double-sided earrings have been showing up on celebs for a little while now. First it was pearl studs with big backs, now there are lots of varieties including earring backs that hang below the earlobe. So it’s finally time to talk about this hot jewelry fashion for Trend Hungry Tuesday.
Are you ready to make a power move? This is the age of the girl boss, where females are making more strides in the workplace, forging their own way and empowering each other while doing so. You can even start a blog and create your own career path (I type that from experience). It’s a really exciting time to be a girl.
Another exciting thing, a few of my long-time favorite beauty brands, Olay, COVERGIRL and Pantene are teaming up with Levo League. Levo has been on my radar for a while, as it’s an organization that’s all about empowering young women to dream big and work hard towards their career ambitions and is a resource with style, beauty and career advice to help women be the best version of themselves.
This week’s outfit was styled around the shoes. As you may have read or seen on social media, I recently went on a shoe- shopping spree thanks to Shoe Carnival. It was awesome. I got a ton. Haven’t you heard? Celebs have been looking quite pretty in pleats lately.
Ashley Tisdale wowed on the red carpet at the Tony Awards in pleated pants with a crop top. She gets my vote for best dressed. The sleek-chic hair + makeup work so well with the outfit.
I’ve been stocking up on summer styles lately and have been slaying it in snagging serious sales. First my visit to Shoe Carnival (giving away FREE SHOES tomorrow, stay tuned!!) and then my trip to the Lilly Pulitzer Warehouse Sale. I was fortunate enough to score a pass to the friends & family day, which is the day before it opens to the public. That meant less crazy lines, more items to choose from (nothing was picked through yet!), and an additional 25% off! I paid more for my Lilly for Target jumpsuit than what I paid for most of the pieces I purchased.
The timing couldn’t be better! Just as I was in dire need for some summer shoe shopping, a new shoe store comes to town and I am seriously hooked. Shoe Carnival is the store that has serious style with AH-mazing savings + stellar customer service. The store is filled with fab brands for women, men, and kids. It’s also super organized; men on one side, ladies on the other, and children shoes are in the back. From there shoes are sorted by type, so flips-flops hang together while dress shoes are in their own area. That made it easy for me to focus on the styles on my shoe-wardrobe wish list. I ended up leaving with way more shoes than I planned (eight pairs!!) and seriously couldn’t be more thrilled to know about this treasure of a store.
