It’s hot outside then the next second you’re blasted with air conditioning. That’s why I love to dress in layers. Summer layers have to be extra cool (in temperature) and comfortable since it can be scorching out. That’s why I’m living in this look.
Celebrities are coordinating their clothes with matching separates. Crop tops with matching shorts, skirts, and pants have been trending in young Hollywood. Kylie Jenner sported suede from head to toe in a crop top and matching pants and then opted for a more athletic take on the style with an Adidas coordinating set.
This Independence Day I hopped on the Almay #SimplyAmerican tour bus for some pampering on the Parkway. I love my city. Philadelphia’s Benjamin Franklin Parkway turned into one of the biggest Fourth of July celebrations in the country called Wawa Welcome America. The all-day extravaganza, complete with music and food, was a pretty fun way to spend the holiday despite the weather being less than stellar. Thanks to Almay I was able to take refuge from the rain and get a little makeover.
It’s the summer. We are showing some skin, and there are some new, trendy styles and spots to wear jewelry. Back chains, thigh necklaces, and charms that stick to your hair — I visited Fox29’s Good Day to share these hot accessories. TV segment + shopping details below.
This week’s trend is perfect for the ease of summer. It’s Birkenstocks. Not familiar? The German-based shoe company known for their flat, slip-on sandals usually with one or two buckled straps and a cork bottom that slightly conforms to your foot, was big in the late 60’s and then came back into popularity in the 90’s. Now celebs are kicking it in Birkenstock sandals, making them look too cool and chic to ignore.
Skip the basecoat and try polish that actually gets stronger as time goes on. Ever since CND sent me six of their fabulous shades of CND VINYLUX Weekly Polish it’s been the only nail polish I’ve been opting for, saving me on time and trips to the salon, though I’m more of DIYer when it comes to my nails.
What a busy month it’s been! June was jam packed. My month consisted of lots of days at QVC, teaching a fashion biz class at a camp, planning a couple events, blog posts, outfit pics, styling personal shopping clients, and more. Phew, it was busy, fun, and went by fast. Now here we are, at end of the month at it’s time to round up the outfit posts, all of which feature the same stellar shoes.
Like my kimono? It’s from one of my favorite people. My dear friend Kristen sent it to me all the way from Hawaii. Though she and I don’t like close to each other anymore (she’s based in LA but lived a few months in Hawaii earlier this year), but we still manage to swap clothes when we do get together, though this one was meant for me to keep. It came in the mail along with a cool coral necklace she made me, a bottle of black sand, a hair product made by a friend she met while living there, and of course a thoughtful note — she’s the cutest + I absolutely LOVED the care package she sent me!! So when I wear this kimono I think of my boho babe, Kristen.
