Trend Obsessed: Miley Cyrus, Jessie J & Cher Lloyd Love Striped Skinnies

By  |  1 Comment

Miley Cyrus is campaigning for a new trend to take off. Thick, bold horizontal stripes are virtually on every piece of clothing she has been spotted wearing recently. And it’s clearly catching on, with celeb sighting include Rihanna, Emma Stone, Nicki Minaj, and Heidi Klum are in on the trend and Jessie J & Cher Lloyd even have the same exact pants as Miss Miley, $90 from Motel Rocks. While vertical stripes are known to elongate figures and be flattening on everyone, we can’t help but think of how eerily similar she looks to a Tim Burton character.  But black and white are blowing up for spring and pants, they’re the new statement piece!

You can try this trend with pants or a skirt with vertical stripes and pair them with a solid colored blouse or T-shirt. The stripes allow you to look longer and draw attention to your newly-extended self.

Steal: L’Amour Nanette Lepore Stars and Stripes Jeggings, $25.00 at JCPenney.

Looking for something a little more refined? Pinstripes are always classy, a slimmer line having the same effect. Try both and figure out which stripe suits you best. Afraid to fully commit to the striped trend? Choose accessories with stripes like handbags, scarves and headbands. It’s a great way to get used to the look in small doses.
