{ QVC Blog Column } Jessie’s Summer-Style Staples

LOGO summer style

Hello! QVC has been keeping me busy with lots of LOGO by Lori Goldstein airings, which I LOVE! If you follow me on social or know me in real life, then you know that I seriously LOVE my job and working, so I couldn’t be happier with all that’s coming up (more details to come!). One part of my job that I love is getting test out the new designs, style them, and then blog about it for the QVC blog. I do this every month, and this time I chose to focus on my favorites for summer. These are those pieces I’d pack for any trip and are serious style staples for this season.

Taylor Swift Bad Blood VMA Fashion

Last night I was glued to the TV for one of my favorite award shows. It was also in the name of research for this blog post and a VMA fashion recap with Fox29 this AM. Miley Cyrus had a slew of silly outfit changes, and I LOVED them all! Taylor Swift came with her posse of  gorgeous girls from her “Bad Blood” music video and owned the night. Justin Bieber, he opted for a new hairdo (or don’t) that resembles Kate Gosselin’s infamous cut. Yes, the MTV Video Music Awards went off with some stellar performances and styles to match. Here are my favorite fashions from the night. Continue reading…

{ TV } Last-Minute Gifts & Tips On ‘Good Day Philadelphia’

Have you finished your holiday shopping? I  actually love waiting until the last minute so have no fear. It’s not too late and I have some great gift ideas (like, SERIOUSLY GREAT!) and got to share my present picks and gifting tips with Fox 29’s Good Day Philadelphia this AM.

{DOs & DON’Ts}

Is lingerie a good gift? How about a new perfume? This segment is for the fellas. Here are a few pointers for buying for the lady in your life.

{Blogger Gift Picks}

But wait, there’s more. An hour earlier it was a blogger Xmas. I’m at the end and product info is below.

FOX 29 News Philadelphia | WTXF-TV

{DAVIDsTEA Holiday Collections} Since working with DAVIDsTEA on their King of Prussia launch I’ve seriously become addicted. They make loose-leaf tea a fun and unintimidating experience. They also have tons of great gift ideas, including lots of holiday sets, Jingle Ball ornaments filled with tea, and my favorite mug that changes color when it gets hot. Check out my favorite gifts from DAVIDsTEA over at the Simon Style Setter Blog.

{The Body Shop Git Sets} They’ve teamed up with War Child, the global charity for children affected by war. Holiday gift sets purchased will fund classes and hopes to provide 6 million classes. One gift equals one class. I love that this brand is conscious of what they put into their products, how they’re made, and where the money goes.

{Sephora Favorites} My makeup mecca, this place has it all and unfortunately we ran out of time to show their stuff. I love how Sephora creates kits of their most-loved products. This gift allows the receiver to try on some new stuff that they may not have purchased on their own. I also love the price point of sets, as they’re usually lower in cost than what the products normally retail for.

{TV} Coats for Your Body Type

I visited my friends over at The Better Show last week to talk coats for your body type. It’s finally coat weather, so bundle up in style.  Here are my tips for finding the right coat for your figure. Click here to watch the clip: Coats for Your Body Type.

Look 1: Petite

RIGHT FIT go for something short and compact. Try a bright color to add style or sleek accents (such as leather sleeves) that won’t overwhelm your small frame.

WRONG FIT coats that are too long, big, bulky, or with lots of embellishments.

Coat: a short, pea coat with faux leather sleeves from Aeropostale (on sale for under $50!)

Look 2: Athletic

RIGHT FIT add shape to an athletic build by picking a coat with a feminine cut and creates curves, such a coat with a drawstring at the waist or a belt. This shape can easily pull off bold prints.

WRONG FIT anything boxy or without shape.

Coat: a short wrap coat that creates curves from JCPenney (on sale for $120).

Look 3: Bigger Bust

RIGHT FIT try a zippered coat that cinches in slightly at the waist, to highlight curves while not bringing more attention to the chest area.

WRING FIT puffy coats that make your waist go missing and and steer clear of buttons, that can pucker with a bigger bust.

Coat: a chevron coat that cinches at the waist and zippers close. $102 at Lulu*s.

Look 4: Pear Shape

RIGHT FIT DO even out proportions by opting for a coat that draws attention upward. A fur collar adds more shape up top, balancing out the hips.  Also look for styles with shoulder pads, wide collars, or that are cut to go slightly inward at the bottom.

WRONG FIT  short and tight and big prints.

Coat: a structured coat with large fur collar, bring the eye upward. Coat ($154.99) &  sherpa scarf ($24.99) from Kohl’s.
