I’m #LABound!! Catch Up With Me!!

Hey babes! Ugh, I am so EXCITED to be heading out to LA!!! I normally try not to overuse the exclamation point since more serious journalists already judge bloggers enough as it is (I did go to school for this stuff and landed my first job writing for a newspaper when I was 16), but today I am really, really excited and feel like using a few exclamation points to really get the point across!

So, I’m off to LA to visit friends, have fun, get some inspiration, and meet up with some cool people. While I’m there you can follow along on Instagram (follow me on Instagram @JessieHoleva) and read the blog since I’ll have some posts scheduled for your enjoyment, and plan on tweet.

My checklist

- relax

-have fun

-stress less

-enjoy the company of friends

Because sometimes a checklist should be that simple! But seriously, I’ll still check emails (I can’t not), plan on Instagramming a ton, blogging a bit, and will also allow myself to be carefree.  So, since I’m flying out tonight I thought let’s sign off from blogging in PA with a quick catch up of what I’ve been up to. Ready?

Another Birthday! It was my birthday this month! I’m 26 and celebrated in faux fur and big sunnies.  Can ya blame me?

Girl Time. My LA babe, Kristen, who I’ll be staying with, was in town last week so we brunched, thrifted, shared a cronut, and caught up. I need more days like this!

Photoshoot Fun.  Rags & Thread is a cool Philadelphia-based brand and I ‘m in their Kickstarter campaign, which will be live soon. Stay tuned!! I’ve also been doing more outfit posts for the Dare to Wear series here on Trend Hungry and will be posting more pics soon and also will be snapping some while in LA!

Styling & Segments. I’m the Wardrobe Stylist for Celebrity Corner & love sharing my trendy tips and tricks on the show. I get to style the host Dorothy and also talk  trends with her and her audience.  A few weeks back I came on the show to talk celebs accessories and I’ll be back on when I get back from LA. Watch on April 10th!!

Hmm… other than that I’ve been busy styling personal shopping clients at King of Prussia Mall, hosted Main Line Fashion Week, am working with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to raise money and awareness (more details on this soon!), have been collaborating with a hosiery brand I love called Silkies, and have a top secret business venture that’s launching soon so stay tuned. Ahh! When I look back I realize just how busy I really am. Good thing it’s stuff I love to do.

That time I took over @KOP_Mall’s Instagram for the first day of spring. Radiant orchid makeup is hot, hawt, haute!

Clearly, I’m a little tired, and a lot busy, but good busy so no complaints here. Want to catch up with me? You can shop with me at King of Prussia Mall (your first 2 hours are free!!), meet me at the Philly Blog Love Tech Week event on April 9th, and subscribe to my email list to you’ll  get updates on what events I’m involved.  Just add your info to the box on the right and you’ll be in the Trend Hungry loop.

Hope all is well with you! I know this post is a little “Me” heavy, but it’s a catch up  of what I’ve been up to and I know I don’t give much of a peek behind the blogging curtain and intend on doing more of that. A lot of the tweets and emails I get are about breaking into the blogging or styling biz so I plan on adding more of that to the blog and about my experiences so hopefully you can learn and also be inspired to chase your dreams. So I leave with a little quote. Pin it, share it, and leave a comment if you feel inclined.

Recap: Inside Kohl’s Fall 2013 Press Preview

Trend Hungry had the chance to attend an exclusive preview for Kohl’s Fall Collection last week at Gary’s Loft in NYC. Filled with racks and racks and racks of clothes, the Loft’s penthouse looked like a closet one could only dream of.

Most importantly, I know you’re dying to know what you can expect from Kohl’s for fall! Be prepared to have a wardrobe full of leather, lace and military chic from brands like LC Lauren Conrad, Rock & Republic, and Jennifer Lopez.
It’s always good to think ahead, so here’s a more in-depth description of what you can expect your wardrobe to look like.

Olive green, black, and animal instinct are the main themes of this fall line. These pieces are definitely for the mellow city girl that likes to look fly and comfy. My favorite piece from this line are their short sleeve t-shirts with leather embellishments that will give your outfit more edge and sass.
For the girly girl that goes straight from work to a backyard BBQ or walks along the water. Her fall line will carry dresses and blouses that are subtle and sweet. With animal print and nude heels and tons of gold jewelry to choose from, my favorite piece were the designed chambray shirts. They’re versatile, breath great, and can be worked into many different looks.
This line is for the everyday girl. With that encompasses a little attitude but loves to party in comfort! With lots of loose fitting blouses, tight pants, and killer pumps, her pieces are sophisticated and fun! Going from dinner to the club shouldn’t be an issue in these looks, so no need to stress! I’m totally loving the soft, silky sleepwear from this line…definitely a must have!
Did we mention that Jennifer Lopez was doing press for her collection while we was there? How awesome is that!?! The fall collections for these brands aren’t out yet, but that’s no reason you can’t check out Kohl’s Spring Collection in the meantime!

Philly FABB Gets Zen

L to R: Natalie of The Second Best Blog, Jade of Style Wallflower, Melissa of Ring The Alam, Jessie (me!) of Trend Hungry & Philly FABB Founder, Lauren of The Style Darling & Philly FABB Founder

It’s still January. Therefore, it’s still timely to talk about it being a new year. New year means new goals and giving that mind and body some TLC are on my list for a crafting up a fabulous 2013. So,  me and some of my Philly FABB members got together this weekend at the private event Bend Into Your Blogging Zen. What’s that mean? It means we escaped from our stresses of blogging (yes, this job of joy does, at times, cause a little of stress) and nourished our minds and bodies with yoga, a healthy spread of food, and a good time of bloggers uniting.

The Rundown

Yoga: Philly Power Yoga. Their great space is perfect for working up a sweat while taking a break from life. Our practice was less sweaty than their usual and was the perfect speed for a relaxing Sunday!

Food: Fuel. So healthy and delish! It literally fueled me up after our workout. We got to snack on wraps, the most tasty salad I’ve ever had, and they even provided fresh orange & pineapple juice. The pineapple was so good that I took an extra home and my boyfriend finished it in like 30 seconds. We’ll likely be grabbing lunch there this week, as I’m not addicted!

The Goods: Each Blogger left with jewelry from Empowered by Jen Groover, handmade soaps from Andre Richard Salon, beverages from Bai, a card for two free yoga sessions for you and a friend at Philly Power Yoga, and a free introductory private pilates session at Thrive Pilates.

Bloggers: If you’re based in the Greater Philly area, email me at Jessie@phillyfabb.com for consideration. Philly FABB is a network for the fashion & beauty blogging elite. FABB exclusive events are invitation only.

Special thanks to all of our sponsors! Without you, this event wouldn’t have been possible!!

Recap: Trend Hungry At The Stoli #ORGNL.TV Party!

By Brooke

Face it, we all LOVE to express ourselves. Whether its through our clothes, music, or what we create, we all want to be original…and liked…and of course, retweeted ;). Fashion is loved by so many because it’s the most expressive way to say how you’re feeling without really saying anything. Isn’t that why you love it!!! Last week, Trend Hungry had the chance to attend an exclusive finale event for Orgnl.tv by Stoli that showcased the most original music, art exhibits, and of course, fashion presentations.

Trend Hungry in NYC is starting to become a normal occurrence but don’t worry, we’re not complaining. Taking place at Studio 450, every guest was greeted and handed Stoli beverages by gorgeous models sporting mini red Stoli dresses and high heels. Totally fab! Continue Reading

Recap: South Moon Under + Trend Hungry Event

After a couple trips to NYC for Fashion Week, it was time to head back to Philly, where the Philadelphia Collection was just kicking off! I brought my boyfriend to the kickoff party on Tuesday and by Thursday it was my turn to play hostess at South Moon Under‘s Girls Night Out. It was a blast thanks to Philly Weekly (covered event/ sponsored), Andre Richard Salon ( free statement lips for guests), and DoorBella (offered free manicures!). Thanks so much to everyone that came out and showed support! The line was out the door and overall, a total success!

For more pictures check out what Andre Richard Salon posted on Facebook! Also, thanks so much to the lovely ladies of South Moon Under. Lots went into this event and I’m thrilled that I got to partner with South Moon Under  and host such a fun event for the fashionistas of Philly!!
