Fall fashion is upon us and our makeup has to change with the season. And this season’s lustful color for lips and nails is a dark cherry also known as oxblood. At the Emmy Awards, Kat Dennings, Jena Malone, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus sported the sexy shade on their gowns, but celebs like Camilla Belle & Kate Bosworth added the shade to their lips months ago. Infuse this color trend by swapping out your bright pinks and oranges from summer and take a dark turn towards the vampy hue.
Some of these deep shades are so dark they border on black and purple, so don’t be afraid to ease into the trend to avoid going too dark.
When applying a dark color, first exfoliate lips (here’s a quick DIY lip exfoliant). Then apply color directly from the tube for darkest results. While this trend is popular for the winter months, be sure to give your skin some color with bronzer or blush to avoid a creepy vampire look.
While such a dramatic look can be intimidating you’ll never know if love this trend until you give it a try! Cheryl Cole and Kourtney Kardashian have embraced this fall look as well, will you? Comment below!
It’s officially fall so yellow was not the color choice I expected on the red carpet. Stars like Claire Danes and Julianne Moore opted for the sunshine color and I gotta say, I’m now really craving some more yellow in my closet. A long gown doesn’t really fit into my regular life, but Leslie Mann’s look would work for brunch or the farmers’ market.

Her dress was Naeem Khan for Spring 2013, but you can snag a similar look by pairing a crochet top with a yellow maxi and some turquoise baubles. Add a top knot to to really top it off.
Those fab shades of yours need a home. That home should be as chic as your sunnies and put them on display. Watch how to transform a shoe box top into a trendy tray perfect for your precious eye protectors.

This past season peplums took over – period. Charlize Theron showed us just how fabulous they are and we’re simply not sick of this trend. Don’t think the peplum (an overskirt typically starting at the waist) is only for the stars on the red carpet. It’s also for us worker bees just trying to stand out in our cubicles while not freezing to death from the central air conditioning. Even though Kate Middleton is a princess, she’s relatable (repeats outfits like the rest of us) and her pretty peplum is chic, keeps her warm, and shows off her skinny waist even is cool months.
Here’s a slew of peplums you can wear to work, rework for play, and can be mixed with jeans, a skirt, or dress pants. Oh, and of course, they’re trendy, not spendy!
True story! I was really craving a collar – a cool embellished collar that really draws attention. I’m starting to become obsessed with this trend and found nice sparkly one at JCPenney for only about $30, then half the stones fell out – not cool. Luckily, JCP is awesome with returns, but now I’m hungry for a another collared necklace. Plus, Demi Lovato wore one with a highlighter dress on Conan the other night and it looked freakin’ amazeballs – legit! (her dress was under $100, btw!! Only in black though.)
Demi has really stepped up her style and she looked so good with that collared necklace. Demi has really been workin’ it – go Demi’s stylist! Okay, enough about Demi. Let’s get to the good stuff. Here’s a whole slew of collared necklaces for a skinny budget. Check them out and comment with what one you’re hungry for. Plus, I could really use some help narrowing down my shopping list
For the nail-polish obsessed, the best fall fashion accessory is deep red nails. Think red wine! Deep-red nails are stirred up major buzz at New York Fashion Week and have been a big street-style trend. These red-wine colors are a perfect accent color to your fall favorites. Different variations of this deep red-wine color (dark red, deep purple, burgundy) is a trend that’s here to stay and we are here to share some of our favorites with you.
Red wine stains lips and teeth. These dark hues do the same and can leave some unsightly yellow nails after its taken off, so don’t skip a good basecoat to keep your digits in mint condition. This versatile color will look excellent with earth tones and prints. We’re loving this trend so much that we’ll be rocking lips to match!

Why feel like you’re confined to wearing half of your closet during certain seasons of the year? The summer is slowly winding to an end but that doesn’t mean your fashion has to suffer! Combat boots are great for a daring girl ready to adapt to the next season. They can be worn year-round, are extremely comfortable, and are a bold statement in themselves. Rihanna and Miley Cyrus are especially making the grunge look fab again! For Miley’s look, pair combat boots with denim shorts, a black V-neck shirt, and a flannel shirt (maybe add tights if it’s chilly out) and you’re ready to conquer any backyard bonfire or house party. If you’re feeling really edgy, throw on a slouchy hat to tie the grunge look together.
