I was in love with the Louis Vuitton spring show, hence my romantic-cutout post. Another great look from the collection was the amazing sparkling head wraps.
Headbands and wraps are a must during the warmer months and why not dress them up with a little bit of sparkle!
These pretty headbands are a great way to dress up a casual outfit. Wear them with hair loosely pulled back, a t-shirt, jeans, and a blazer for a day look. Or pair them with a silky blouse and skirt for a fun girl’s night out. Here are two ways to wear one headband. If that’s not enough, scroll for more headbands on a skinny budget.
I’m all about the brights right now, and nails are no exception. Cut those nails down, add a neon hue, and flash me those digits! But, did you know it’s illegal?!?!?
I was just reading on Shefinds that neon hues are illegal to make in the US, so the colors we think are neon are just bright … but not neon?!? Or they’re made somewhere else.I wonder what the stance is on glow in the dark polishes.
Whatever, I still want the look for less. Katy Perry like yellow. Rihanna rocks orange. And I want pink, no wait, green, no wait, blue. I want them all!
April is quickly winding down, and before you know it, it’s going to be summer. That means it’s time for swimsuit season preparation – eating well, working out, moisturizing, sunless tanning, and more. But one thing we often neglect when getting ready for summer is our faces! Of course, we should always wear sunscreen, but don’t forget about that dull winter skin. It’s time to glow and there are tons of ways give your skin radiance on a budget.
First, as I already noted, sunscreen is a must-have, every day. It protects us from wrinkles, sunspots, and more. Most moisturizers these days have an SPF 15 or higher built right in. Next, and as we all probably know already, it’s important to establish a cleansing routine that fits your skin type. Some people will benefit from twice-daily scrubs with acne-fighting washes, while others with sensitive skin need to be a little more careful and gentle.
No matter what your skin type, exfoliation is the key to removing dead, dry skin and revealing glowing skin underneath. You can buy exfoliating scrubs, but to really do the trick, you might want to try microdermabrasion, which sloughs off the outermost layer of skin. Until recently, this was a treatment that was reserved for spas and salons, but you can now get great microdermabrasion at home products online. I’ve found some really great kits, masques, and more at ShopNBC – if you’re interested, take a look around! It’s important to know your skin and educate yourself before embarking on a microdermabrasion at home routine though. People with sensitive skin should be especially careful to not use it too often.
Some of the kits come with instructional DVDs to ensure you’re performing the process properly, so it’s a cinch to get glowing.
How do you prep your skin for summer? Have you tried microdermabrasion?
One of my readers hit me up on Facebook asking for a maxi dress that works on a curvy figure. I feel ya, girlfriend. I’m tiny, but boobs can makes certain maxis look more nighty. Opt for a dress that cinches in. That way your waist looks smaller and your curves do all the talking… without showing too much, of course.
Khloe Kardashian is the queen of this look. She knows to define her bust from her waist and she stays away from the moo-moo look (spelling??).
Here she is…
And here’s a menu of what you can be wearing for under $50.00…
I wish I brought flats to my prom. It would have saved my feet a lot of pain. Now I’m a little older and wiser. Flats or flip flops are a must when I’m groovin’ and movin’ at weddings, deal digging at the mall, or walking aimlessly around the city.
Flats have come a LONG way the last few years. You can snag a pair almost anywhere, in any price range, and any color or pattern. There’s a flat for everyone and some designs are so cute it may make you want to rock a short dress. Either way, save your feet and stash a pair in your bag.
Kendall Jenner rocks them on the red carpet. She’s tall and pulls it off. I’m only 5’3 so would prob keep heels on for photo ops. Hand me a cocktail and throw me on the dance floor, then it’s flat time.

I own a foldable pair and swear by them. They’re not the most sturdy, but they are life saving after a long night, especially when your feet are a little swollen from those constraining stilettos.

Yo! There’s a new website on the block and I’m in love. Think of Etsy meets Pinterest. It’s called Threadflip and that’s what ya do … flip your threads, jewelry, shoes, bags, whatever fashionable pieces you got that you’d like to flip forward.
I’ve pretty new to selling my stuff. I’ve gone to places like Plato’s Closet and made like $2.00 on some good stuff (not cool). Ebay seems intimidating. You have to work really hard to up your rating and wait for bidders. Threadflip is WAY easier. You can make an account using your Facebook info and the whole process was actually fun (for real, like for real FOR REAL).
I grabbed my goods, took pics on my iPhone, hooked my cell up to my computer, and started selling. I’m inviting my friends (you!!!), sharing my loot on Facebook and Twitter and cleaning out my closet while loading up on some Threadflip faves (ppl can ‘like’ merch, recommend to a friend, and even ‘pin’ to their Pinterest account).
Okay, more about me. As a blogger, I shop a lot, get gifted items, and I also live in a one-bedroom apartment with my boyfriend (skinny on space, fat on fashions). I do giveaways, but it would be nice to make a few bucks (some of these items have been worn once). So DO check out my closet on Threadflip, DO make an account and sell your swag, and DO comment below!!
The lovely and fashionable Whitney Port (reality star, author, designer) just launched a new line exclusively for Apricot Lane called WE by Whitney Eve. It’s more affordable than her past designs and perfect for the upcoming months.
I had the chance to sit and chat with her at the launch event, a Garden Tea Party at Apricot Lane Suburban Square. Part 2 of the interview will be up tomorrow!
I had such an AMAZING time at her tea party. There was the best raspberry iced tea, yummy desserts, and even tea sandwiches. Plus Whitney is such a sweetheart in person (and so gorgeous!). Whitney even posted a pic of she and me on her blog (I’m super excited!!). See for yourself on her blog.
I love cocktail rings – LOVE. I tend to buy a lot of costume jewelry, and I often end up with a green stain on my finger. It’s nothing a little nail polish can’t fix. I prefer a colored polish. That way you know when it’s chipping. Plus a little color never hurt anyone.
